Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I write. 3 months ago we adopted a beautiful black lab puppy named Goodie. He is an adorable, sweet, curious, and funny little guy. We love him so much!
Unfortunately, it has become clear that Goodie is completely overwhelmed by life with children. It seems that he needs to be in a home with either a single adult or a couple that do not have young children. He fine with the kids but it is clear that that he not entirely comfortable with their constant hands-on and in-his-face activity. He is, however, great with other dogs, cats, and all people, even kids if they give him space. We had him evaluated by a wonderful dog behavioralist and it is clear that he is not at all aggressive, just fearful of too much touch.
Goodie has completed puppy kindergarten, knows all the basic commands (sit, down, off, etc.). He also has a strong recall (i.e. he sticks close by when outside and comes right back when you call him). He learns really quickly and is very food motivated. He is crate trained and loves to nap in it even when his crate is open. He now sleeps through the night, is potty trained, and only chews his raw hide bones!
We do not want to have to put him in a shelter to find him a new home, so we are hoping that through friends and family we will be able to find a permanent placement for him. We are committed to finding a really good match for him, he is so lovely and will make a great pet for someone.
If you or anyone you know is interested in adopting this wonderful little guy, please contact us at the information below or via email:
